Week 3!

After our first two weeks working with our new online store and delivery system, we’re getting the hang of things and starting to see what works and what doesn’t. As you may have noticed, the change we’ve made this week is that our online store is now going to open on Tuesday mornings and close at 4pm on Thursdays. We realized that it was just too crazy for us to try to do a full walk-through of the farm and analyze harvestability of crops (as we always do on Monday mornings) and then immediately try to launch the online store for that week. By pushing the opening time back and moving the closing time up, we will better be able to manage the online store and organize the orders while also being able to stay on top of the ever-demanding work of growing the actual crops!

We hope that everyone has enjoyed their first few weeks of fresh veggies. While this week’s harvest list is essentially the same as last week’s, we are looking forward to our inventory beginning to expand soon both in variety of crops and in total number of each item as we move the bulk of our harvesting from inside our hoop house to outside in the field, where the beds are both larger and more numerous. On the horizon are more salad turnips and an expanding number of radishes as well as the beginning of our kale harvest and, soon enough, the first strawberries!

Thank you as always for your support!

Those salad turnips are a HUGE success. Regardless of size everyone loves them. I am glad
you’ve figured out a better way to schedule your store “opening” to work better w/your schedule.
I guess we non farmers sometimes forget that there is so much more for you two to do than just
plant seeds & tend to them as they grow! You continue to amaze all your customers.
