Changes to online store & welcome to new readers!

I know lots of new people have signed up for the blog recently and wanted to welcome all of you and thank everyone for your support of our farm. For those of you who are new to the blog, I wanted to give a brief introduction to what you can expect. We post to the blog every week, usually on Mondays, and you can expect a short update on what is going on on the farm as well as a full harvest list of what will available through the online store (and eventually at the farmers market once that resumes).

We also want to thank all of you for bearing with us as we figure out this new way of selling our produce. Everything we are doing is a first, from setting up, running, and managing an online store to carrying out deliveries. As we work through each week, we’ve figured out what does and doesn’t work for us and for our customers. As a result, we’ve decided that starting this week, we will be opening our online store each week on Thursdays from 12 noon until midnight. We have seen that most customers make their purchases within the first 10 hours of the store being open and, by pushing the store time back to Thursday, we believe that we will be able to better serve our customers by being able to post very accurate harvest numbers rather than trying to guess what and how much will be ready for harvest at the beginning of each week. This week, we’re moving even more into harvesting from our outside beds, as opposed to in our hoop house, so quantities of each item should begin to increase. Additionally, we will start having some new products available, including the first of the Red Russian and possibly curly green kale this week!

See below for this week’s harvest list and, as always, please be in touch if you have any questions.

Great job explaining the “new” system. You guys are amazing in all the organizing you’ve done in addition to
the incredible amount of actual farming work you’re doing every day. Very exciting to have kale this week &
to have the turnips back. Thanks

Purchased my first order from you last week. Very tasty vegatables. Thanks so much for all you are doing. This is a great way to support a small, sustainable farm, and the fact that I don’t have to go into the grocery store makes it all the better. Paying by credit card via the internet and then dropping off outside my house also helps slow the spread of Covid-19. I’ve told all of my friends about your service. Keep up the good work.
