Thank you!

It’s our last market of the year this Saturday at Burke. Unfortunately, we had to end the Shepherdstown market one week earlier than planned (last Sunday was our last day at Shepherdstown.) Given how warm this fall has been overall, all of our plantings are way ahead of schedule. We’ve already harvested off most of the beds that we are usually harvesting from in early December, which unfortunately means we’re not making it as long with our markets as we have in other years. On the other hand, by this time of year, we’re certainly ready for a long-needed break from endless work! We’re gradually getting the farm prepared for winter by pulling out and burning the summer plants like tomatoes and okra and tilling in and cover cropping, mulching, or tarping all of the beds to protect them over winter and prepare them for spring planting.

As always, we want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for your support this year at both of our farmers markets and through our CSA. We truly could not keep the farm running without you. We hope all of you have a safe winter, a relaxing holiday season, and a happy New Year and we look forward to seeing you all next spring!

Thank you so much!

Farmers Katie & Mike

That photo is magnificent. Could have been taken over the sound at the Outer Banks. I’m glad you were able to
sell most of your crops on the earlier side & I know you appreciate the end of a tireless season. You have built
a most devoted fan base, well deserved I might add, of folks who truly appreciate the value in local, organic
produce. I can tell by listening to discussions at your stand at Burke that customers so enjoy the direct contact
w/each of you. Well done guys!

Congratulations Katie, Mike, and Caleb on a truly successful year. It has been wonderful watching your progress and enjoying your incredible produce—unmatched in quality and taste. We only wish we were closer, to enjoy your arugula, tomatoes, potatoes, turnips, spinach (and I could go on…) every week. Have a relaxing and well-deserved winter holiday!
